Guardian Dual Dash Cam

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Guardian Dual Dash Cam is designed to keep driving evidence under the user’s control. This policy explains how the Android and iOS apps process local app content, optional account information, and purchase entitlements.

Account deletion: Android users can delete their Guardian account and associated cloud data in the app or submit a web request. Delete Guardian Account and Cloud Data.

Information processed locally

Depending on the features the user enables, Guardian processes camera video, optional microphone audio, precise location and GPS evidence, motion and impact data, trip telemetry, timestamps, and recordings. This information is processed and stored locally on the device unless the user chooses to share or export it.

Local information supports recording, playback, trip documentation, collision detection, clip locking, storage management, and user-directed sharing or export. Guardian does not automatically upload or publish local recordings.

Android account and Firebase data

The Android app offers optional Sign in with Google. Signing in creates a Guardian account using Firebase Authentication. Firebase may automatically process the user’s Google account email address, Firebase user ID, IP address, user-agent information, device and app metadata, and Firebase app identifier.

Guardian stores trial start and status, entitlement and access state, eligibility flags, and related timestamps in Google Cloud Firestore. This information is used for authentication, trial-abuse prevention, purchase entitlement synchronization, account management, fraud prevention, and app functionality.

Data sent to Google and Firebase is encrypted in transit. Guardian does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Android purchases

Google Play processes purchase and payment information under Google’s policies. Guardian receives purchase and entitlement status needed to provide app access, but does not receive full payment-card details.

iOS purchases and trial eligibility

The iOS app does not require a Guardian account. It uses Apple StoreKit for purchases and verified Apple transaction data to determine entitlement and trial eligibility.

Data retention and deletion

Cloud account data is retained while the Guardian account exists or as needed for entitlement and fraud-prevention purposes. It is then deleted when the user uses the in-app deletion control or submits the web deletion request described on the Delete Guardian Account and Cloud Data page.

Local recordings and related on-device content are controlled separately by the user. Deleting the Guardian cloud account does not delete local recordings. Their retention depends on device storage, recording settings, loop recording, locked clips, exports, and manual deletion.

Permissions

Guardian requests permissions required for enabled features. Review the permissions page for details.

Children’s privacy

Guardian is intended for drivers and is not directed to children.
